Peels

PeelingsMedical peeling involves the application of a specific exfoliating agent to the area to be treated. One thus eliminates the damaged cutaneous layers and replaces them with a bright, smooth and rejuvenated skin.

The alphahydroxy acids (AHAs), like glycolic acid, lactic, and fruit acids, are the agents most used in surface peels. Trichloroacetic acid remains the gold standard agent for peels of medium depth. Phenol is the agent used for deep peels.
