Laser Treatment of Psoriasis

Indications

- Psoriasis on the scalp.
Technique
The Excimer Laser emits in the UV a wave length of around
308nm, with a very precise impact on the chosen target in
a short lapse of time.
The treatment
is painless and does not necessitate the need to take concomitant
medication. This technique is particularly suitable for patients
with psoriasis in limited zones
Programme
- 2 treatments a week (4 to 8 treatments are generally sufficient).
Results
- In general excellent (including the scalp).
Advantages of the technique
- Improvement as from the first treatment.
- Few treatments necessary.
- The necessary cumulative dose is around 6,5 times inferior
to conventional phototherapy.
- Good results possible where traditional treatments have
failed; enables treatment of the scalp, a zone not accessible
to traditional Pluvatherapy.
- Highly selective exposure, only on effected zones; healthy
zones spared.
