Laser treatment of Vitiligo

The Lémanic Clinic is the first in Switzerland to use the revolutionary techniques of the Excimer Laser for the re-pigmentation of vitiligo patches and other pigmentations of various origins such as scarring.

Indications

• Vitiligo not too far spread.
• Various kinds of de pigmentation.

Technique

• The Excimer Laser produces a wave length of around 308nm in its UV rays which allows it to have a very precise impact on the chosen target in a short time lapse. The treatment is painless and does not necessitate the taking of concomitant medication.
• This technique is particularly well adapted to patients who present a case of vitiligo that is not too severe.

Programme

• A minimum of 10 treatments should be estimated, allowing 2 per week, followed by 1 per week.
• Depending on photo type, good results can be seen after only a few treatments.

Results

• Good to excellent (especially on the face).
• Variables for the hands and feet.
• Some cases do not respond to treatment.

Advantages of the technique

• Good results are possible where certain classic treatments have failed.
• The highly selective explosion only treats effected zones, sparing healthy zones.
