During this consultation, the medical director will conduct a brief examination to establish whether a blepharoplasty is indicated for your particular facial features, following which she will advise you on the results that you can expect from this procedure.
After the preliminary consultation, you will meet with the cosmetic medical specialist, who will explain the procedure in detail to you. He will also carefully take you through the potential risks or complications of the procedure, the recovery period and the results that you are likely to obtain depending on the shape of your face.
Before the treatment
The preparations necessary for the procedure would have been explained to you during your previous consultations. These preparations (recommended only if without medical risk) include temporarily suspending any course of vitamins or omega-3 supplements that you may be taking at least 3 weeks before the procedure. If applicable, you will also need to check with your treating physician to what extent any course of prescribed anticoagulants can be interrupted.
Procedure
On the day of your scheduled surgery, be sure to arrive to your appointment with no make-up on and with your contact lenses removed.
